After seven years of relentless iteration and a portfolio of secured patents, the team behind PEAT reflects the spirit of innovation at the heart of the brand.

Founder Pat Hoderny has brought together a powerhouse team including: a former Division I quarterback, a defense robotics engineer, and a nationally recognized media director. Each brings a unique expertise—united by a shared mission to elevate quarterback development through cutting-edge technology.

MEET THE TEAM

CEO / Founder

Pat Hoderny

Pat is CEO and Founder of Envelope Sports. His initial concept led to the patents that stand behind the first product from Envelope, PEAT. Pat is a technology enthusiast with a 15 year background in technology working with fortune 100 tech brands.

Prior to his career in tech he was a Quarterback who played for University of Pittsburgh. PEAT is a manifestation of Pat’s driving curiosity and persistent challenge of the status quo. Pat has seen the need for PEAT since his highschool quarterback days. Pat’s goal is to enhance the QB’s opportunity to better his skills while secondarily allowing the QB to take true ownership of his training and development.

Pat’s journey from QB to Founder opened his eyes to what is possible when you consistently ask why not. His curiosity continues to drive him in his journey as a professional and entrepreneur.

Director of Product Development

Caleb Sanford

Caleb is the Director of Product Development and Engineering at Envelope Sports and a co-owner helping to drive the company’s long-term vision. With a relentless drive for excellence, Caleb has been instrumental in accelerating PEAT’s development from concept to field-ready technology.

A graduate of Duke University with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science, Caleb brings deep technical expertise and a strategic mindset to the Envelope team.

Outside of Envelope, Caleb collaborates with multiple organizations under the U.S. Department of Defense, where he is a well-regarded and trusted figure. His unique blend of engineering precision, athletic discipline – as a former Junior Olympic pole vaulter – and mission-driven execution makes him a key asset in both national security and elite sports performance technology.

Director of Media

Katie Linendoll

Katie serves as the Director of Media for Envelope Sports, bringing two decades of expertise at the intersection of technology, media, and innovation. An Emmy Award–winning TV personality and named a Silicon Valley Visionary, Katie has been a trusted tech contributor on The Today Show for over 15 years, with a career rooted in translating cutting-edge technologies for mainstream audiences.

She began her career behind the scenes at ESPN’s SportsCenter and Outside the Lines before authoring over 60 pieces on sports technology. Katie has made hundreds of media appearances across top outlets including Sports Illustrated, Popular Science, E!, Rachael Ray, Inside Edition, The Weather Channel, SiriusXM and regularly serves as a global keynote speaker and emcee on emerging tech trends for top tech brands.

Katie’s career has been defined by her ability to spot breakthrough technologies with mass-market potential—often before they hit the mainstream. The first time she saw PEAT in action, she immediately recognized its potential to meet a critical need in the football industry.

Paul Troth

Paul played Division I football at East Carolina and Liberty University, bringing firsthand experience at the collegiate level to his coaching career. With eight years as a coach at Elite 11, he’s worked with top-tier quarterback talent across the country. His coaching journey has spanned from high school programs to international teams in Austria.

Investor

Joey Roberts

Jonathan “Joey” Roberts has been deeply involved in all five levels of football—youth, high school, college, professional, and retired—for the past 18 years, with a primary focus on studying the quarterback position. He is a founding team member of Envelope Sports. His previous experience includes roles at ESPN (2007–2022), Elite 11 (2010–2022), the Alliance of American Football (2018–2019), Lipscomb Academy (2019–2022), and UAB (2023–present).

Chris Hoderny

Chris played Division II football at Gannon University, where he later spent five years coaching quarterbacks and tight ends. With a strong foundation in both athletics and leadership, he transitioned into a successful nine-year career in sales.
